The end of 2013

As i am typing this i have just come home from having a few drinks with some of my best friends from school. The conversation got quite deep towards the end of the evening and unfortunately i had to hurry home as i had promised my mum that i would bring in the new year with her and my dad. I really wanted to be relaxed and so i decided to have a face mask and a Jacuzzi bath with some of the lush products i got for Christmas and in the sales. I wanted to end 2013 on a high and feeling relaxed as upon reflection 2013 had actually been a good year to me. I graduated with a first, made some awesome new friends( you know who you are) and also started this blog and got a great welcome from the blogging community so thank you to you all.

The end of the year can bring up a lot of feelings for a lot of people. As we finish off the year and start a new one  we start thinking of our half- finished projects ie. losing last year xmas weight and joining the gym. Previously i used to focus on that as well. i would look to whats hadn't happened and what didn't go well and i would end up feeling disappointed in myself and reluctant to start the new year but that is not what i do any more at the end of the year.
Now i direct my energy and attention on whats worked, whats gone well and what i feel was successful. I have discovered that this strategy is critical to my emotional resilience. One of the only things in life i have control over is how i tell my story and how i interpret my experiences and make sense of them. If i create a story that os one of learning, growth and empowerment i feel better.

I have come to realise that life is what you make of it and we design our lives, in part by the stories we have to tell. We create our realities by the stories we tell. And we can tell stories about the past and we can design stories to move into. I am all about person transformation for the new year i think.
Changing my story took time and practice and it has now changed my reality. I just had one of my best year as previously mentioned. I learned so much and grew tremendously as a person. I was supported and inspired and mu work was well received. It was a hard year (i worked hard) but it was worth it. But now i am challenging you guys to tell your story of the year, I believe in designing my future and i often have ideas or dreams about what i want to do next and where i want to do and the kind of work i want to do. What kind of life are you creating and what are you going to do next. Happy NEW YEAR!! THE COUNT DOWN IS ABOUT TO START NOW SO HERE WE GO.

Talk to y'all Later in the new year
